1C: Setting Instructional Outcomes, 1E: Designing Coherent Instruction I have decided to include one of the lesson plans that I collaborated on with my 2nd Grade team at Van Buren, primarily the Language Arts section. I included this as an artifact because at the time of writing, I had become accustomed to writing the objectives for the week in language that was understandable to my 2nd Grade students. It also shows how I was able to plan for the week ahead by having knowledge of the pacing for the class and what topics would be approaching, as well as having objectives ready for the kids to know that to expect.
1C: Setting Instructional Outcomes, 1E: Designing Coherent Instruction This is a lesson plan from that I helped to craft with my lead teacher in my 4th Grade placement at Van Buren. At the time of writing this weekly lesson plan, just like the first document, I had become more aware of the pacing for the 4th Grade subjects and I was aware of multiple resources so that I could complete my lesson preparations in a timely manner throughout each day. This is further proof that I have learned how to build lessons for the week and create lesson objectives for the kids to know what is in store for the day ahead.
1A: Demonstrating Knowledge of Content and Pedagogy For this section, I decided to upload my Praxis Test scores. I believe that this is a fitting artifact because as teachers, we need to show that we possess knowledge and understanding of the content we are presenting to our students. I believe that these scores provide evidence that I am a capable educator who possesses the necessary knowledge for teaching my students. I would be in the wrong profession if I could not show in some tangible way that I am able to perform the tasks of a teacher.
1C: Setting Instructional Outcomes This was one of many lesson plans that I crafted while teaching at Lincoln Elementary School. This lesson plan demonstrates knowledge of 5th Grade standards. This lesson plan also demonstrates that in my planning, I like to be very detail oriented so that I have my entire week planned out and that I know what materials I will need for presenting my upcoming lessons.
